ACC Predictions Is A Zero Confidence Game

I'd like to note that these predictions were made hours before College Football Investigative Angel Of Death Charles Robinson (a fellow Michigan State alumnus) brought a hammer down on Miami.  C'est la vie.

Florida State over Virginia Tech in the title game.

An incredibly difficult conference to prognosticate.  I'm definitely not in love with these predictions.  Va Tech doesn't strike me as an undefeated team on paper, with a new starting QB and only 11 starters returning, but I also don't see a single loss on their schedule until the title game.  Maybe the Thursday night Technological Derby in Atlanta late in the year.  I see Florida State beating Oklahoma, but then losing the next week at Clemson, where the Seminoles shockingly haven't won since 2001.  It's possible their early loss will allow them to be in the hunt for a BCS title game bid.  I'm a big Al Golden fan and if he can settle on a QB early, if Harris' eligibility questions doesn't do it for him, I think he can win 8-9 games easily despite the gathering storm clouds around the program.  Unfortunately for Miami, he's understandably displeased at the recent turn of events and may not be long for that place.  Clemson, Georgia Tech and NC State aren't strong 8-win teams, but any of those teams not reaching that plateau is going to result in a lot of twitchy bottoms for fans and coaches alike.  North Carolina's an enigma that typifies the conference.  Maryland and Boston College's relatively poor showings here are more a result of difficult schedules and matchups than a talent discrepancy, unlike at Duke or Virginia.  At least the former has a QB and David Cutcliffe.  Mike London will have Virginia turned around soon enough.  Incredible to believe Wake Forest won this conference in my lifetime, but a shallow talent pool in Winston-Salem has all but evaporated.  Jim Grobe deserves better.
